Winona State well represented in NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-American list

NEW ORLEANS - All-America honors for the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), following the conclusion of the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Grand Valley State University May 27-29.

Winona State University had seven student-athletes earn nine total All-American awards, with impressive performances in both individual and relay events.

Earning First-Team USTFCCCA All-American honors by virtue of finishing among the top-eight in their respective events – including as a member of a relay team – at this past weekend's outdoor championship meet were Kendall Zeman, Shereen Vallabouy, Brooklyn Schyvinck and Kalley Harris in the 4X400 relay.  Harris also earned First-Team honors individually, competing in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in eighth place in the finals.

Second-team USTFCCCA All-American honors were awarded to Michaela Pryor, Maddy PietzKaylee Olson and Brooklyn Schyvinck, who combined to run the 4X100 relay at the NCAA Division II Championships.

All three of the Warrior performances resulted in a re-writing of the WSU record book, with Harris' 400-meter hurdle mark of 1:00.21 becoming the second-fastest all-time at Winona State, and the 4X400 relay team also moving into second-place all-time with their finals time of 3:42.09.  In the 4X100 relay, the Warrior effort in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships of 46.94 narrowly missed qualifying for the finals, but did earn a second-place spot on the Winona State Outdoor Top 10.
