LA CROSSE, WIS. – The Winona State track and field team set the pace in their first outdoor meet of the year at the Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse at the Veterans Memorial Sports Complex.
Kylie Anderson set the pace for the women's 5000m at the Ashton May Invite. Anderson finished first in the 5000m with a time of 16:58.00, this earned her the number two ranking in the NCAA Division II Central region and comfortably leading the NSIC ranks. She was followed by
Stella Rusch finished fourth and was followed by
Kelsey Young.
Ella Voit led the pack in the 3000m steeplechase. Voit won the steeplechase at the Ashton May Invite finishing first with a time of 10:34.67. Voit's finish was enough to earn her the number one ranking in the NCAA Division II Central region and in the NSIC.
Emily Meyer was behind Voit in the steeplechase finishing sixth at the Ashton may Invite.
Mara Talabac was the Warriors leader in the 1500m finishing 12th with a time of 4:50.78. This finished earned her the fourth best in the NSIC. She was followed by teammate
Lexi Terwedo in 18th, who now sits fifth in the NSIC.
Lexi Urbick topped the podium with a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles, finishing with a time of 14.96. Urbick's time currently has her tied for first place in the NSIC.
Stella Richter finished fourth and
Amber Gerrits finished sixth.
Sasha Steinbach finished second in the preliminary 100m with a time of 12.16. Steinbach sits in 19th place in the NCAA Division II Central region and is sixth in the NSIC.
Karissa Birch finished fourth in the final 100m and is currently ninth in the NSIC.
Alyssa Larson led the way in the 400m finishing second with a time of 57.63, sitting fourth in the NSIC. Birch finished sixth in the 400m and was followed closely by
Caitlyn Casella in seventh.
Adalyn Barkley finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:17.61 at the Ashton May Invite, earning herself third in the NSIC.
Jenna Anders was close behind finishing fifth at the Ashton May Invite and is fifth in the NSIC.
Gerrits finished 12th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:11.43. She was followed by
Lydia Toshner in 13th place.
Megan Marr finished 29th in the 200m with a time of 28.33.
Chloe Fratzke finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 5' 2.25" (1.58m). Fratzke is currently third in the NSIC.
MacKenzie Wissbroecker finished second in the long jump at the Ashton May invite with 18' 3.25" (5.57m). Wissbroecker is eighth in the NSIC. Ella Schuler finished sixth, followed by teammate Megan Kruel in ninth.
The Warriors will be back in action next weekend at the Minn State Open on Saturday, April 11th.
