NSIC Weekend : Women's Soccer

WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University soccer team is back at home in Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium for an important NSIC weekend, hosting Minnesota State - Moorhead on Friday, Oct.14 and Northern State University on Sunday, Oct. 16.

The Warriors and Dragons will kickoff at 5 p.m. on Friday, while Sunday's match against the NSU Wolves will begin at 1pm and is senior day for Winona State.

WSU heads into the contests this weekend having set a season-record for shots in a game, a mark achieved en route to beating the University of Minnesota Crookston 3-0 on Sunday, Oct. 9.  In the match, the Warriors out-shot UMC, 36-2.

On Friday, the Warriors will be looking to start a new winning streak versus MSU-Moorhead, as the Warriors had won nine straight games against the Dragons until a 1-0 loss last season. Winona State and Northern State have traded wins over the past six seasons, with neither team winning two in a row since 2015.  Last fall, NSU dealt WSU a 1-0 loss in Aberdeen, S.D. and the Warriors will be looking to return the favor on Senior Day.
