Warrior Meet Day: Indoor Track & Field

MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State University women's indoor track and field team opens the 2022-23 Warrior Indoor Track and Field schedule Saturday, Dec. 3, competing at the Chuck Peterson Open at Minnesota State.

In Mankato, head coach Mason Rebarchek and WSU will compete indoors for the first time this season, kicking off Rebarchek's 18th year at the helm.

Earlier this week, the Winona State track and field team was predicted to finish fourth in the NSIC this year, while two Warriors were named as Athletes to Watch this winter. Click here to read the full release.

Shereen Vallabouy is the defending national champion in the NCAA Division II 400 meters and Warrior teammate Xana Leum looks poised for a breakout season in several events this year.  Both Vallabouy and Leum were tabbed as WSU's Athletes to Watch as a part of the preseason predictions from the league.  Winona State is also the reigning 400 meter relay champions and will work to defend their title from last indoor season.

Competing in Myers Field House on Saturday, the Warriors will see a handful of fellow NSIC programs and several top athletes from the NCAA Division II, III and NAIA ranks.

More information on the Myers Field House facility in Mankato is available here.
