ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Winona State University softball team opens their 2022 season with a doubleheader against Grand View University today, Feb. 15, at the Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC) dome. First pitch of the opener will be at noon with the second game to follow.

The Warriors begin their 2022 season after finishing third in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament a season ago. WSU was tabbed to finish third, once again, in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll this year.

The Grand View Vikings are a member of the NAIA and were ranked No. 12 in the NAIA Preseason Poll after finishing the 2021 season ranked No. 11. Today's games will be the first of the season for the Vikings as well, as their first two scheduled games were canceled.

Libby Neveau and Liz Pautz were selected as the Winona State Player to Watch and Pitcher to Watch, respectively, heading into the 2022 campaign. Neveau and Pautz will be staples in a strong Warrior lineup as WSU looks to make another deep postseason run, starting with the season-opening doubleheader today.
