PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Winona State University softball team returns to action today, traveling to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, where they will play a pair of NCAA Division programs. The Warriors will face off with the PSU Gorillas at 1pm and then see Drury University at 3pm.Â
Winona State (2-0, 0-0 NSIC) started the season with a double-header sweep over NAIA power Grand View University on Tuesday, beating the Vikings 2-1 and 8-4 in the RCTC Dome.Â

Abbie Hlas both picked up wins in the circle on the day and the WSU offense generated 17 hits over the two games.
Libby Neveau started 2022 where she finished 2021, hitting the softball out of the park, as she delivered a grand slam in game two versus Grand View.Â
Pittsburg State (5-1, 0-0 MIAA) is off to strong start on the season, winning five straight before falling to Harding University 9-8 in their most recent contest. Drury University (3-3, 0-0 GLVC) has faced a pair of nationally ranked programs already this season, including #1 ranked Texas-Tyler. The Panthers are currently on a two-game win streak.Â
The Warriors will play both teams on both days of the weekend. After completing Saturday's contests, WSU will face off with PSU and DU on Sunday, with game times set for 10 a.m. and noon, respectively.Â
