WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University women's tennis team opened their 2022 season in convincing fashion with a 7-0 sweep over Minnesota State University, Moorhead.
The Warriors jumped out to a great start, where 
Beth Murman and 
Sara Anderson picked up a 6-0 win at the No. 2 doubles spot. WSU clinched the team doubles point soon after, as 
Rina Niehoff and 
Rachel Kelly won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Singles play was much of the same, as Kelly and Murman made quick work of their opponents at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions. Niehoff clinched the match for WSU when she defeated her opponent in straight sets at No.3 singles, allowing just three games total.
Anderson (No. 4) and 
Mikayla Hanson (No. 6) each won their matches in straight sets as well, and neither dropped a game in their second sets. 
Brooke Holloway was in a battle with her opponent at No. 5 singles, and after splitting the first two sets, Holloway won the third-set tiebreaker 10-6 to give Winona State the 7-0 sweep.
