Winona State track & field earns team, individual academic accolades

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University track and field program captured both team and individual academic honors, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) recently.

The Winona State program was one of seven NSIC schools to earn the 2022 NCAA Division II Track & Field All-Academic Team distinction. For a team to earn the award, the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA squad list for indoor and/or outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.  The Warriors tallied a 3.65 team GPA for the 2021-22 academic year, while earning fourth place in both the NSIC indoor and outdoor track and field championships this past year under head coach Mason Rebarchek

Individually, seven Winona State standouts earned 2022 NCAA Division II Track & Field All-Academic Athlete distinction. To earn the award, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition. In addition, the student-athlete must have achieved an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.

For WSU, Kaylee Beyer, Lindsay Cunningham, Maddy Pietz, Michaela Pryor, Madison Rizner, Brooklyn Schyvinck and Kendall Zeman all achieved 2022 USFCCCA All-Academic honors, having hit NCAA II Division qualifying marks during the year.
