Winona State soccer suffers setback to Mustangs

MARSHALL, Minn. - The Winona State University women's soccer team dropped an NSIC contest at Southwest Minnesota State, losing 1-0 to the Mustangs on a goal in the second half.

In a game with significant postseason implications, SMSU and WSU battled in a tightly-contested 90-minute affair that saw the two teams separated by the thinnest of margins.  The host Mustangs had a slight edge in shots, 11-10, but Winona State put more efforts on frame, 7-6, than SMSU.

In the end, a goal by Southwest Minnesota State's Selena Prolic proved to be the difference between the two sides.
