Winona State football adds Jared Taylor to staff

WINONA, Minn. - Winona State University head football coach Brian Bergstrom has announced the addition of a new coach to the WSU football coaching staff.

Jared Taylor is joining Bergstrom and the Warrior program; Taylor was most recently on staff at Washburn University.

Coach Bergstrom noted, "We are grateful to add Coach Jared Taylor to our staff.  He has a proven track record as a young coach, teacher, and mentor.  He has been blessed to be around college athletics at a high level his whole life, shaping him into who he is today.   We are excited to have him in football family and make an impact on and off the field."

For the Ichabods, Taylor served in various roles related to social media, academic advising, director of equipment, and serving as running backs coach for Washburn from December 2022 through December 2023. Also, while at Washburn, Taylor helped out in various ways with youth football camps and prospective recruiting camps as well.

Before his time at Washburn, Taylor spent six months working in the athletic department at Northern State University where he prepared recruiting events, helped with athletic branding, and assisted the Director of Football Operations with day-to-day activities.

Taylor was a quarterback at Northern State University from 2017-2021, followed by a year at Washburn University. In his last year at Washburn, Taylor played in six games, throwing for 659 yards and five touchdowns, good for second on the team.
