MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State University women's track and field team claimed third place at Minnesota State in the Bearson-Gathje Classic on Friday, Jan. 12, with the Warriors earning 69.5 points overall in Mankato.
Kaylee Beyer took top honors in the mile race for Winona State, turning in a time of 4:48.75 to win the event.
Courtney Lukas claimed a second-place finish for the WSU in the women's 60-meter race, running the sprint in 7.93 while Warrior teammate
Kaylee Olson had a mark of 7.98 in the same event.
Hanna Reichenberger was fourth in the women's 60-meter hurdles (9.00) and
Lainey Lipschultz was third in the women's 600-meters with a mark of 1:42.55. Reichenberger also scored well in the field events, taking third in the women's triple jump with an 11.53-meter effort.
Minnesota State won the event with a team score of 313 while the University of Minnesota Duluth was second with 133.5 points.
Winona State is next in action on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
