WSU track and field competes at Pat Healy Classic

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Winona State University track and field team earned a third-place finish at the Pat Healy Classic on Saturday, January 20, hosted by UW-La Crosse. Three WSU student-athletes recorded marks that land inside the NCAA Division II top 25 for their respective events. 

Kaylee Beyer continued her impressive indoor season with a first-place effort in the 3000 meters, running a time of 9:17.12 while Warrior teammate Lindsay Cunningham took second at 9:26.25. Beyer's time currently sits as third in the NCAA Division II ranks, while Cunningham's mark is the fifth-best for 3,000 meter times this season. 

Regan Feit helped pace Winona State with a first-place finish in the women's 400 meters, turning in a time of 58.97, ranking as the only competitor to run a sub-one-minute time. 

Turning in the top collegiate time in the 600-meter run was Winona State's Jenna Anders, excelling in the race with a time of 1:40.10, just edging Viterbo's Tori Gerber who had a time of 1:41.79.

Several WSU standouts earned top-five finishes in La Crosse, including Kaylee Olson in the 60-meter dash (7.99), Lainey Lipschultz in the 400m (1:01.06), and Bellamy Sukalski in the 600m (1:48.22). In the mile run, WSU had two top-five efforts, with Samantha Harke taking fourth (5:09.07) and Kylie Anderson fifth (5:14.34). 

In the field events, Mari Mohling led the Warrior contingent, claiming a third-place finish in the high jump with a 1.58-m (5-02.25) effort. Hanna Reichenberger was fourth in the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.94m (35-10.75).  Reichenberger also was second in the 60-meter hurdles, running a time of 8.65. Reichenberger's 60-meter time set a new Winona State record in the event, displacing Anna Blaske's time of 8.86, set in 2013. 

WSU's 4x400m relay team of Lainey LipschultzJenna Anders, Lani Hubka, and Regan Feit, added to the Warrior effort, earning a third-place finish with a time of 4:06.14. 

Winona State scored a total of 79 points to finish third in the team standings, behind UW-La Crosse (253.50) and UW-Stout (83). 

Winona State looks ahead to their next competition at Minnesota State University - Mankato. WSU will take part in the Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Friday- Saturday, January 27-28.
