Winona State women's basketball drops contest at Minot State

MINOT, N.D. - The Winona State University women's basketball team wrapped up an NSIC weekend at  Minot State on Saturday, January 20, taking on the Beavers in the MSU Dome.

Alex Dornfeld earned a double-double for Winona State (5-12, 4-8 NSIC) and had Warrior teammate Oliva Gamoke score 17 points but WSU was unable to overcome a slow start in the first quarter, falling to Minot State (6-15, 3-9 NSIC) on the road.

Final Score: Minot State 59, Winona State 45

Team Stats Comparables
Winona State enjoyed a 24 point third quarter, but was held to single-digits in scoring in the other three frames. 
Minot State held a slight edge in rebounding, 38-35, while Dornfeld was the only player from either team with double-digit boards. 
Both teams had nearly identical 3-point shooting marks, with MSU making just 6-of-24 while WSU was 7-of-25.

The Winona-to-Minot State trek is the longest trip in the NSIC, stretching 632 miles. 
The Warriors entered Saturday's game with an 4-2 record over Minot State in the last six matchups.
