WARRIORS WRAP UP SEASON AT MINOT STATE

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State football team will wrap up the regular season at Minot State on Saturday, November 16. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm at First Western Bank Field at Herb Parker Stadium.
 
The Warriors (5-5, 5-4 NSIC) are coming off a convincing 35-17 victory over SMSU while the Beavers (4-6, 3-6 NSIC) dropped a close contest to MSUM 42-38. Winona State is 6-0 all-time against Minot State, including a 13-7 victory last season that came down to the final play.
 
Winona State Notes:
  • Jacob Scott was named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week after going 3-3 on field goals and 4-4 on extra points.
  • Cole Stenstrom went 18-24 passing with 344 yards and 2 touchdowns last week with his longest completion being 54 yards.
  • Conner Haggerty led the team in tackles against SMSU with seven. Haggerty also led the team in tackles for loss and sacks with two bringing his totals to 7.0 TFLs and 4.5 sacks on the season.
  • Sylvere Campbell hauled in seven catches for 142 yards against SMSU. Campbell is third in the league averaging 84.0 receiving yards per game.
  • WSU averages 379.0 yards of offense each game and allows just 321.0 yards to opponents.
  • Winona State has the fifth-best pass defense in the NSIC, allowing just 174.2 yards per game through the air to opponents per game.
  • Winona State special teams have been a key part to success this season. WSU is second in the NSIC averaging 12.8 yards per punt return and is the only team to have a punt return touchdown. The Warriors are second on kickoff returns, averaging 23.0 yards/return.
 
Minot State Notes:
  • The Beavers are 3-2 at home this season.
  • Minot State averages 22.5 points per game and allows an average of 23.7 points per game.
  • Minot State features a run-heavy offense, totaling 2476 yards gained via the ground this season for an average of 229.4 yards per game.
  • The Beavers throw for just 55.3 yards/game.
  • Evan Lovett leads the way rushing for 70.3 yards/game. Carson Chrisman notches 57.4 yards per game on the ground as well.
  • Chrisman also leads the team in passing, throwing for 529 yards on the season with one touchdown and two interceptions.
  • Cody Raetzman has notched a team-high 46.0 tackles and has garnered one interception and one fumble recovery.
  • Raetzman is tied with teammate Julian Kameristy for a team-high 2.5 sacks.
