WINONA STATE TO TAKE ON MICHIGAN TECH IN NONCONFERENCE MATCHUP

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State women's basketball team is looking to bounce back on Sunday, December 1st, against Michigan Tech. WSU will hit the road to face off against MTU at the Varsity Gym in Houghton, Michigan at 2:00pm.
 
Winona State will look to get back in the win column after a tough loss against Concordia-St. Paul.
 
Winona State Notes:
  • The 2024 campaign will feature 14 home games and 12 away games, Winona State finished 6-6 at home last season and 6-6 at home in 2022.
  • Currently holding a record of 4-2, WSU is ranked 10th in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
  • The Warriors are ranked 11th in the NSIC in points scored and ranked sixth in points allowed.
  • Olivia Gamoke and Hailey Markworth are currently ranked 10th and 18th in the NSIC in scoring with averages of 15.7 and 13.2 points per game.
  • Markworth led the team in scoring against Concordia-St. Paul with 17 on 7-14 (50%) shooting from the field, and Gamoke led the team in minutes with 30.
  • Lindsey Hahn brought valuable minutes off the bench against the Golden Bears with 14.
  • Markworth led the team with rebounds against Concordia-St. Paul with eight, and leading the team in assists was Vivica Bretton who recorded three.
Michigan Tech Notes:
  • Currently holding a record of 2-4, Michigan Tech is ranked ninth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • Isabella Lenz is leading the team in minutes with an average of 33.3 a game. She is also leading the team in scoring with an average of 15.5 a game and blocks with an average of 0.8 a game.
  • Leading the team in rebounds is Kendall Standfest with an average of 7.5 a game.
  • Dani Nuest is leading the team in assists with an average of 3.3 a game.
  • Leading the team in steals are Ella Mason and Standfest, who each have an average of 0.5 a game.
