How has your WSU athletics experience been influential throughout your life?
Being a student-athlete throughout college while going to school for Nursing has shaped me in so many ways. I have learned the importance of managing my time between sports and school. Running has also kept me disciplined through sport and academics. In addition, being a student-athlete has given me lifelong friendships and has made me learn to persevere when it gets tough.

Please share any recent professional or personal accomplishments.
I graduated with a degree in Nursing in May 2023.

What is your current occupation, and what are your career goals?
I will be an RN (registered nurse) working in Hawaii. My career goal is to help/care for people in a holistic way- caring for their physical, mental, and spiritual health.

What advice would you give to current WSU student-athletes?
I would say lean on your friends and support systems when times are tough. Being a student-athlete is hard, but if you love your sport it is possible to do both. Never be afraid to speak up and ask for help, especially if it's related to your mental health and sports! Don't feel ashamed for needing to talk to a sports psychologist. Lastly, have fun. Enjoy what you do and take it all in because it goes by way too fast!

Please include any additional information you would like to share.
I know some people who are thinking about studying Nursing are nervous to also do a sport. My advice to those people would be, it is 100% possible to be in athletics and study Nursing. Don't get me wrong, there will definitely be times where it is hard and you might not think it's worth it. But if your sport is something you love to do, then do it! Talking to the professors is essential and so is learning to stand up for yourself.
