WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's basketball team will host Bemidji State University on Friday, February 9, and the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, February 10 in the final regular season action for the Warriors. Friday's contest will begin at 5:30pm followed by Saturday's beginning at 3:30pm
Winona State (8-17, 7-13 NSIC) faces a Bemidji State team on Friday evening that the Warriors defeated earlier this season, 44-43 on the road. On Saturday, the Warriors will face a Minnesota Crookston team which sits one spot below WSU in the conference standings heading into the weekend. BSU enters the weekend losing three of their last four games, while UMC has dropped their last 11 straight contests coming into the weekend. UMC will play the Mavericks in Mankato on Friday before the Golden Eagles make their way to McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.
Leading the Warriors on the season in scoring is Olivia Gamoke with 9.2 points per game, while Mattie Schimenz is first on the team in total assists with 35. Alex Dornfeld is just behind Gamoke in points per game (9.1) while also leading the team in rebounds (7.7). Dornfeld's 7.7 rebounds per game puts her at fourth in the conference overall.
