CHICAGO - The Winona State University women's track and field team was paced by several first-place finishes at the 2024 Lewis University Invitational on Friday, February 2 in Chicago, Illinois.
Kaylee Beyer,
Hanna Reichenberger, and
Madeline Palmer each took first place in their respective events, helping lead Winona State to a strong showing in the Gately Center.
Beyer took top honors in the seeded one-mile race, turning in a time of 4:43.24 while Palmer paced the unseeded one mile race leading the field with a time of 5:24.57. Beyer's time of 4:43.24 set a new Winona State record in the event, as the Muwonago, Wis. product beat her own time of 4:46.93 set in 2023. Reichenberger competed in the 60-meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 8.78. Reichenberger also won the women's triple jump, turning in a mark of 11.57m (37-11.50).
Regan Feit was the runner up in the women's 400 meters, running the race in a time of 56.96, while
Kaylee Olson was fourth in the women's long jump at 5.26m (17-03.25). Feit's mark of 56:96 is the seventh-fastest 400 meter time in WSU program history. Winona State had one additional fourth place finish, with
Kylie Anderson running the unseeded 3000 meters in 10:22.52.
Next up for Winona State is a pair of events; WSU will send a contingent of competitors to Boston College for the Eagle Elite Invitational as well as the Maverick Premier Meet in Mankato, Minn. Both meets run over Friday, February 9 and Saturday, February 10.
