WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University softball team earned an NSIC sweep on Saturday, beating Bemidji State in both ends of an NSIC doubleheader. The 7-1 and 10-4 wins over the Beavers combined with a split on Friday against the University of Minnesota Crookston saw WSU claim three of four wins over the two-day NSIC weekend.
Game 1: Winona State 7, Bemidji State 1 | WSU used a five-run second inning to pull away from the Beavers early in the contest. Although BSU would score one run in the top of the fourth inning, the Warriors would subsequently add two more scores for the 7-1 final. Starter

Jayda Berg went the final two innings in the Warrior circle.
Sam Keller and
Teaghen Amwoza both had doubles in the contest to lead the WSU offense.
Game 2: Winona State 10, Bemidji State 4 | Winona State was down three runs after the top of the first inning but responded with seven runs across the first three frames to pick up the sweep over the Beavers.
Abby Smith earned the win with a complete-game effort in the Warrior circle while
Abbie Hlas and
Kiley Slaats both had doubles in the game.
