BISMARCK, N.D. – Winona State men's basketball was able to grind out a defensive battle against UMary to hang on for a 60-47 road win.

After all five starters played over 40 minutes, including four over 50 minutes, in a triple overtime loss at No. 5 Minot State on Friday night, the Warriors utilized strong defense to earn a hard-fought road victory this evening.

UMary countered with a 12-0 run to cut WSU's lead to seven, but the Warriors halted the Marauder run and went into the locker room up 28-20.

The eight-point differential was as close as UMary was going to get in the second half, while Winona State held the Marauders to 2-14 (.143) from three in the frame. The Warriors attempted just 13 field goals in the second half, but went 20-26 from the charity stripe to hang on for the 60-47 win.
