AFTON, Okla. – Winona State men's golf earned an impressive sixth place at the MSSU Invitational.
WSU, the only NSIC team to compete at the event, was led by
Peyton Coahran and finished with a three round team score of 897 (+33). Central Oklahoma took home the team title after shooting an 854 (-10).
Coahran shot rounds of 76, 69, and 73 to finish fifth overall in the 100-golfer field at two-over par. Coahran was tied for first in average scoring on par 4s at the event with 3.96.
Javier Ramos Casariego and
Luke Maas were next up for the Warriors, turning in three round card totals of 227 (+11) and 228 (+12), respectively. Maas was also top ten at the invitational in total pars with 33.
Tyler Gandrud shot rounds of 77, 79, and 75 to finish the tournament with a total of 231.
Max Jericho rounded out the WSU lineup with cards of 83, 76, and 74 to finish with a score of 233.
Winona State is next in action during the Spring at the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational on Wednesday, March 11th in Henderson, Nev.
