WINONA STATE VOLLEYBALL TO FINISH REGULAR SEASON AT UMD AND BSU

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University women's volleyball team is set to travel to the University of Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State University on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th.

WSU will end the regular season against Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State on Friday, November 14th at 6:00pm and will follow up against Bemidji State on Saturday, November 15th at 4:00pm. 

The Warriors sit in a three-way tie for seventh in the NSIC standings and are battling for one of the top eight spots that earn a trip to the conference tournament.

Winona State Notes:
  • Head Coach Kristine Pelky looks to finish her inaugural season strong after an overall record of 15-11 and 10-8 in NSIC play.
  • Winona State leads the NSIC in total blocks with 206 and an average of 2.26 blocks per set.
  • Kenna Kornely is top five in the NSIC in Kills with 326 total and an average of 3.66/set.
  • Gianna Vollrath holds a top three spot in the NSIC for blocks with a total of 100 and an average of 1.11/set.
  • Ashlyn Steding leads WSU with 510 total assists and an average of 5.60 assists/set.
  • Anna Hennessy has 364 digs this season leading the team with an average of 4.00 digs/set.
  • Kenna Kornely and Gianna Vollrath both were selected for the 2025 Hampton Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team earlier this season.
Minnesota Duluth Notes:
  • Head Coach Jim Boos looks to end the regular season strong with current 17-8 record and 10-8 in the NSIC.
  • UMD is top six in various stats across the NSIC such as, kills (13.91/set), assists (13.02/set), hitting percentage (.257), and points (17.56/set).
  • Senior Middle Blocker, Kylie Broten, is fourth in the NSIC for hitting percentage with .388 on 492 attempts.
  • Sophomore Setter, Ava Jones, is fourth in the NSIC for assists per set with 11.21.
Bemidji State Notes:
  • Head Coach Erika Bute looks to finish her first full season strong with the beavers after a 7-19 record and 4-14 in the NSIC.
  • BSU is ninth in the NSIC for hitting percentage with .184.
  • Sophomore Outside Hitter, Lily Riese, is eighth in the NSIC for kills per set with 3.42 with 328 total this season.
  • Freshman Setter, Madison Tripp, is 10th in the NSIC for assists per set with 6.24 and 599 total.
