WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State women's basketball team will travel to Augustana University and Wayne State College in pursuit of the top spot in the NSIC.
Winona State will travel to Augustana first on Thursday, December 18th with tipoff starting at 7:30pm. They will follow up with a single weekend match against Wayne State on Saturday, December 20th at 3:00pm.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors have started the 2025-26 season with a 7-4 overall record and a 4-1 conference record after a ranked win at #16 CSP and a 2-0 home week against USF and SMSU this past weekend.
- Winona State is averaging 69.8 points per game while giving up 66.0 points per game and shooting 43.3% from the field.
- WSU is shooting 30.7% from three-point land and is making 7.2 three-point shots per game. The Warriors are also shooting 71.3% from the charity stripe as a team.
- Hailey Markworth leads the team in points per game (14.8), rebounds per game (6.3) and steals per game (1.1).
- Vivica Bretton is the leader in assists for the Warriors with a total of 41 this season.
- Breah Golden leads the charge from the charity stripe, shooting 100% from free throw (4-of-4).
- Sadie Jarmolowicz leads the Warriors in three pointers made with 23 while shooting 41.8% from behind the arc.
- Jarmolowicz and Markworth average 33.3 minutes per game and 31.6 respectively, leading the Warriors.
- Winona State enters the 2025-26 season ranked 12th overall in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Augustana Notes:
- Augustana has started the 2025-26 season 4-6 after losing three of their last four games.
- Sophomore forward, Isabella Sanneh leads the Vikings in three-point percentage with 58.3% on 7-of-12 shooting and is averaging 15.3 points per game.
- Junior guard, Maliyah Elloitt leads Augie in assists per game with 3.8 while also leading the team with 17 steals.
- As a team, Augustana scores an average of 71.1 points per game and allows opponents to score 72.8 points.
Wayne State Notes:
- Wayne State has started the 2025-26 season 6-5 after winning their first three games and losing their last four.
- Senior forward, Rachel Dahlen leads the team with 12.9 points per game and a 44.9% shooting percentage on 57-of-127 attempts.
- Senior guard Kelsey Willems leads the Wildcats in steals with 28 total and averages 7.5 points per game.
- As a team, Wayne State scores an average of 66.7 points per game and allows opponents to score 63.8 points.
