WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University softball team heads down to Sioux Center, Iowa to play in two doubleheaders against William Jewell College and Quincy University in the Mustang Invitational on Sunday, February 16 and Monday, February 17. 


Winona State Notes: 

• The Warriors are coming off their first wins of the season against Grand View University going 3-1 and 8-0, putting them 2-0 going into this weekend.
• Sam Keller led the team in batting average (.571), hits (4), runs (3), slugging percentage (1.143), and on-base percentage (.571) against GVU. 
• Logan Anderson led the way in doubles, collecting two. 
• Indigo Fish led the team in triples, collecting one. 
• Anderson and Fish both brought in three RBIs. 
• Keller and Braelee Jodarski both collected home runs in game two. 
• Izzy Howe collected eight strikeouts in game one on the mound. 
• Jayda Berg collected a shutout and had a 0.00 ERA on the mound in game two. 

William Jewell Notes: 

• William Jewell went 0-4 in the Alvy Early Classic. 
• Alexa Almejo led the way for the Cardinals in batting average (.556), hits (5), RBIs (4), slugging percentage (1.000), and on-base percentage (.636). 
• Amanda Chung and Emma Jane Ogle both collected three runs a piece. 
• Almejo, Makenna Cerny and Mikayla Chairez all collected one double a piece. 
• Ogle leads the team in home runs, collecting two. 
• Almejo and Tori Woodard both had successful stolen base attempts. 
• Sydney Parra leads the Cardinals on the mound with a 1.24 ERA
• Parra and Avrey Reynolds both collected three strikeouts a piece. 

Quincy Notes: 

• Quincy University finished 15-35 overall and 4-22 conference last season. 
• Last season, Isabella Shields lead the Hawks in batting average (.285), at bats (144), and hits (41). 
• Allison Kaiser led the team in runs with 19 and on-base percentage (.393). 
• Maddy Findley lead the Hawks in doubles, collecting eight, home runs (3), slugging percentage (.373), and RBIs (22) last season. 
• Lindsey Fischer lead the team in triples, collecting three last season. 
• Abby Hultz earned a 3.75 ERA, 85 strike outs, two shutouts in 130.2 innings pitched last season. 
• Eileen McGinnis earned one save and 24 strikeouts in 86.1 innings pitched in the 2024 season. 

The Winona State University softball team will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa to play in the Mustang Invitational Dome Tournament with their first doubleheader against William Jewell on Sunday, February 16 with first pitch of game one set for 2 p.m. and the second game at 4 pm. The second doubleheader against Quincy University on Monday, February 17 is set for a 12 p.m. first pitch in game one and a 2 p.m. start for game two.
