MEN'S GOLF TIES FOR SIXTH AT FIREKEEPER OPEN

MAYETTA, Kan. – The Winona State men's golf team tied for sixth place out of 19 teams at the Firekeeper Open hosted by Washburn University.
 
The Warriors shot rounds of 299, 288, and 300 to finish tied with Henderson State and five strokes behind Washburn. Oklahoma Christian won the event with a total score of 859 (-5).
 
Luke Maas was the top finisher for Winona State, tying for 13th overall with a three-round score of 219 (+3). Maas shot rounds of 72, 71, and 76. Peyton Coahran finished tied for 20th after a three-round toal of 221 (+5). Coahran bounced back after an opening round score of 76 with a 73 and 72 on the final rounds.
 
Logan Chouinard was just three strokes back, carding scores of 71, 72, and 78 to finish +8 and inside the top 40. Tyler Gandrud tallied a three-round total of 226 (+10) to finish tied for 47th while Max Jericho shot a 241 for the event.
 
Winona State will start preparing for the 2025 NSIC Championships, which are held in Blue Springs, Mo. on April 17-19.
