KENOSHA, Wis. – Winona State women's cross country opened the season with a victory at the Vic Godfrey Open, hosted by UW-Parkside.
The Warriors had four finishers in the top 10 and defeated NCAA Division I Marquette and UW-Parkside by nine points.
Kylie Anderson paced WSU with a fifth-place finish, completing the 4k in a time of 14:28.8.
Stella Rusch was just behind, finishing sixth in 14:46.9.
Ella Voit and
Kelsey Young came in eighth and ninth, both breaking 15:00.
Alli McCaughtry rounded out WSU's top five finishers, placing 12th overall.
This is the fifth straight year the Warriors have won their season-opener. Winona State will race next at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational on Friday, September 19th.
