WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State women's basketball team picked up their third straight double-digit victory with a dominating 82-49 win over Augustana.
The Warriors jumped out to a quick 7-0 start and never looked back, outscoring AU in every quarter en route to the comfortable win.
How It Happened:
WSU scored the game's first seven points and shot 57.1% in the opening frame, including a 4-8 mark from downtown. Winona State limited the Vikings to just eight first quarter points and controlled the boards with a 15-3 advantage and led 20-8 after one.
The Warriors continued to extend their lead in the second quarter, sinking five threes on 11 attempts while holding Augie to just three field goals. WSU extended their lead to as many as 24 points and held a 39-17 advantage at the halftime break.
Winona State controlled the whole second half, stretching their lead to 35 points in the fourth quarter before holding on for the commanding 82-49 win.
