WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State women's basketball team will head West for match ups against SMSU and USF this week.

The Warriors are currently sitting in the fifth place slot in the NSIC, finding themselves one game behind Concordia-St. Paul (13-5 NSIC) and one game ahead of Southwest Minnesota State (11-7 NSIC). These contests will have everything to do with their placement in the NSIC Tournament later this month.

Winona State will battle with the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs on Thursday, February 12th at 5:30pm and will follow up with the Sioux Falls Cougars on Saturday, February 14th at 3:00pm.

Winona State Notes:

• Nearing the end of the 2025-26 regular season, the Warriors have a 15-9 overall record and a 12-6 conference record.
• Winona State is averaging 70.6 points per game while giving up 65.0 points per game and shooting 43.7% from the field.
• WSU is shooting 31.0% from three-point land and is making 7.3 three-point shots per game. The Warriors are also shooting 73.8% from the charity stripe.
• Hailey Markworth leads the team in points per game (16.6) while shooting 50.0% from the field.

• Megan Schuman leads Winona State in rebounds per game with 6.5 and is also pitching in 11.3 points per game.

• Southwest Minnesota State has a record of 13-10 overall and 11-7 in the NSIC, putting them one game behind the Winona State Warriors in conference standings.
• Senior forward, Audrey Swanson leads the Mustangs in points per game with 17.3 while shooting 44.3% from the field.
• Junior forward, Natalie Nielsen leads SMSU in rebounds per game with 8.6 and is also averaging 13.1 points per game.
• As a team, Southwest Minnesota State scores an average of 73.0 points per game while allowing opponents to score 70.7.

Sioux Falls Notes:

• Sioux Falls has a record of 10-14 overall and 7-11 in the NSIC, putting them just outside of the top eight in the conference.
• Sophomore guard, Anna Vaaler leads the Cougars in points per game with 18.9 while shooting 36.7% from three-point land.
• Freshman center, Krista Langager leads USF in field goal percentage with 58.2% on 273 attempts this season while also averaging 7.1 rebounds per game.
