WARRIOR SOFTBALL TO BEGIN NSIC PLAY WITH DOUBLE HEADERS AGAINST NSU AND UJ

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University softball team will start their 2026 NSIC play against Northern State and Jamestown

First pitch of Friday's double header against Northern State is scheduled for 12:00pm and 2:00pm with Saturday's start against Jamestown beginning at 2:00pm and 4:00pm. WSU was able to win both games against NSU last season. Both doubleheaders were originally scheduled to be played in Winona, but now are being played in Rochester, Minn. at the RCTC Dome and Mankato, Minn. at the Maverick Sports Dome, respectively.

(RV) Winona State Notes:
  • The Warriors (21-4, 0-0 NSIC) are receiving votes for the first time this season after going 8-2 on their spring break trip and defeating the #22 Florida Tech Panthers.
  • Winona State entered the 2026 season ranked second in the NSIC Preseason Coache's Poll, behind Augustana.
  • Tiegan Mancuso leads the Warriors with a .400 batting average (26-of-65) while Bryn Elsenpeter leads the team with 5 home runs on the season.
  • Lila McNeill and Elsenpeter both lead WSU in RBIs with 19 with both surpassing 40 total bases with 47 and 44, respectively.
  • As a team, the Warriors hold a .338 batting average and a .412 on-base percentage through 25 games.
  • Jayda Berg (8-2) has picked up earned a team low ERA with 1.76 in 12 appearances this season. Berg has struck out 64 batters and allowed only 17 earned runs.
  • Izzy Howe holds the best win-loss record (9-1) while holding opposing batters to a .191 batting average with 79 strikeouts.
Northern State Notes:
  • The Wolves (8-8, 0-0 NSIC) are coming off a 2-6 showing at the Space Coast Games over spring break.
  • Aune Boben leads NSU with a .400 batting average with 11 RBIs and 22 total hits. She also leads the team with an OPS of 1.003.
  • Mckenzie Wanner oversees the Wolves' pitchers with an ERA of 2.57 and a record of 4-4.
  • As a team, Northern State is batting .291 and holds a .363 on-base percentage through 16 games.
Jamestown Notes:
  • The Jimmies (19-4, 0-0 NSIC) are showing off a 9-1 record at the Space Coast Games over spring break.
  • Trinity Gregg leads UJ with a .493 batting average with 16 RBIs and 35 total hits. She also leads the team in OPS with 1.233.
  • Aubrey Quern leads the pitching crew with an ERA of 1.28 and a record of 6-0.
  • As a team, Jamestown is batting .366 and holds a .426 on-base percentage through 23 games.
