SMITHVILLE, Mo. – Winona State men's golf took first place at the NSIC Preview.
WSU was led by
Peyton Coahran and finished the event with a two round team score of 574 (-2). Augustana would come in second place with a team score of 587 (+11) and Minnesota Crookston would come in third with a team score of 589 (+13).
Coahran shot rounds of 71 (-1) and 70 (-2) to finish tied for first overall at three under par. Coahran was tied for third with eight total birdies on the event and was first in average score on par 4s with a 3.85.
Javier Ramos Casariego and
Luke Maas were next up for the Warriors, with both turning in two round cards of 144 (E) and finishing tied for seventh at the event. Casariego was also tied for third in total pars with 26 over the two rounds.
Logan Chouinard shot rounds of 74 and 72 to finish the tournament with a total of 146.
Max Jericho rounded out the WSU lineup with cards of 76 and 71 to finish with a score of 147.
Winona State is in action next, on March 30th where they will travel to Pittsburg, Kan. for the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational.
