MEN’S AND WOMEN’S GOLF COACH JEFF STRAIGHT TO MOVE ON AFTER 2026 SEASON

WINONA, Minn. – Winona State's Director of Golf, Jeff Straight, will be moving on from coaching WSU men's and women's golf after the spring season.

Straight, who has been with the Warriors since 2014, became the head men's coach in 2015 followed by being promoted to Director of Golf to oversee both the men's and women's programs beginning in 2018.

"Coach Straight has been a valuable member of our department and an incredible leader for our golf teams," noted WSU Athletic Director Jen Flowers. "His pursuit of excellence, in all things, elevated our programs during his tenure. We look forward to achieving more success this spring. Winona State is grateful for Coach Straight's commitment to Warrior golf and we wish him and Xenia the very best!"

The Winona State men's team has earned three NSIC Titles under Straight and holds an overall tournament record of 950–361 the past 11 seasons, including 25 career tournament wins. WSU is currently ranked No. 26 in the nation and third in the Central Region with four tournament wins during the 2025-26 season.

The Winona State women's team holds a 435-375 record in the past eight years with four tournament wins while Straight has been the head coach.

Straight has tutored 21 NSIC All-Conference golfers, 17 NSIC All-Academic honorees, nine Myles Brand award winners, and four NSIC Elite 18 honorees. The men's and women's individual low scores have been set with Straight as the head coach.

"I want to thank all the players over the years that I was very fortunate to coach, and I am grateful for our wonderful Warrior Golf supporters," remarked Coach Straight. "I will always cherish the memories that we made. Xenia and I will be relocating to Topeka, Kansas to be closer to family, and we look forward to whatever our future holds."

Straight will look to lead both programs to a successful spring season before ending his tenure with Winona State following the season.
