Jayda Berg tallied the win after pitching 1.1 innings in relief for WSU. Woelfel and Jodarski each had a pair of hits for the Warriors in the win.
WSU (8) – DU (1)
The Warriors struck early and scored seven runs in the first three innings against Davenport University. Woelfel had a long ball in the second inning, but it was consistent and timely hitting in the first and third to plate WSU their other early runs.
Ashley Theisen earned her first collegiate win in a complete game effort, allowing just one run while striking out eight batters and not giving up a walk. Four Warriors tallied multi-hit games, led by Lila McNeil's three hit outing with a pair of RBIs.
BASEBALL
WSU (9) – D&E (1)
WSU baseball tallied two runs in the first inning of their spring break trip, which was enough to roll to a 9-1 victory over Davis & Elkins.
Adam Wall opened up the scoring with a two-run blast to left field in the first. WSU tallied another run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to break open the game 5-0. An
Easton Arendt triple brought across two more runs in the seventh and WSU ended up tallying another pair in the eighth.
Hunter Guenther went 8.1 innings, allowing just one unearned run on five hits with ten strikeouts. Wall and
Max Pederson notched three-hit games with five other Warriors picking up a hit at the plate.
