WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State softball team will travel to BSU and UMD for pair of road doubleheaders over the weekend.
The first doubleheader against the Bemidji State Beavers is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th at 12:00pm with game two beginning afterwards at 2:00pm. For the match up with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, the doubleheader will begin on Sunday, April 26th at 12:00pm.
#22 Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors (40-7, 19-3 NSIC) are ranked #22 after maintaining the number one spot in the NSIC and winning 3-of-4 games last week.
- Alyssa Woelfel leads the charge for the Warriors with a batting average of .380 and an OPS of 1.118 while collecting a .475 on-base percentage.
- Bryn Elsenpeter is next up for Winona State with an OPS of 1.086 and a batting average of .338. Elsenpeter also leads WSU with 28 walks this season.
- Lila McNeill, who has also played/started in all 47 games so far, has a batting average of .345 and has only struck out 11 times this season.
- Jayda Berg has been lights out this season with an ERA of 1.96, opponent batting average of .230, and a staggering 17-3 record.
- Izzy Howe continues the pitchers room successes with an ERA of 2.59 and WHIP of 1.18. Howe also holds a record of 14-3.
- Ashley Theisen rounds out the Warriors pitching staff with a 9-0 record and a 1.13 WHIP. Theisen has also secured two saves so far this season.
Bemidji State Notes:
- The Beavers (10-33, 4-16 NSIC) are coming off a 1-3 week against Minnesota State Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston.
- Alayna DeGraef leads the Beaver bats with a .373 batting average and 22 total RBIs while collecting 50 hits.
- Sydney Klusman leads the BSU pitching staff with a 4.87 ERA and a 4-9 overall record.
- As a team, Bemidji State is batting .350 and holds a .440 on-base percentage through 43 games.
Minnesota Duluth Notes:
- The Bulldogs (25-18, 10-10 NSIC) are coming off a doubleheader sweep over UMC and a split series with MSUM.
- Ava Johnson leads the bats for UMD with a batting average of .390 and an OPS of 1.215 while tallying seven homeruns.
- Emmie Sylvia-Cochran leads the pitching staff with a record of 13-6 and an ERA of 3.47.
- As a team, Minnesota Duluth is batting .302 and holds a on-base percentage of .406 through 43 games this season.
