WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State softball team will finish the 2026 regular season at home with doubleheaders against Minnesota State Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston.
The first doubleheader will be against the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons on Saturday, May 2nd with first pitch starting at 1:00pm. The match up on Saturday will also hold the WSU Senior Day representation, honoring all Winona State softball seniors. On Sunday May 3rd at 1:00pm the doubleheader against Minnesota Crookston will begin and will be the final regular season games for Winona State.
#21 Winona State Notes:
- Winona State is currently ranked #21 in the nation in the most recent NFCA Coaches' Poll and are atop the NSIC with an outstanding 22-4 record.
- Alyssa Woelfel leads the Winona State bats with an average of .407 (68-for-167) and leads the team in OPS with a 1.151, slugging percentage (.659) and 16 doubles.
- Bryn Elsenpeter holds the power with a team high 10 home runs on the season while holding an OPS of 1.094.
- Ashlee Chantos has the second highest batting average on the team with a .352, tallying 52 total bases and 38 total hits.
- Tiegan Mancuso has been an elite left-hand bat this season with a OPS of .809 and a batting average of .344.
- Lila McNeill has the team second with 53 hits including 13 doubles and two triples with 73 total bases. McNeill has also been walked 22 times this season.
- Braelee Jodarski carries an impressive 31 RBIs with 44 total hits. Jodarski has a .533 slugging percentage paired with a .352 on-base percentage.
- Jayda Berg leads the pitching room with 18 wins this season and a team low 2.15 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP.
- Izzy Howe also holds an impressive 16-3 record this season allowing a team low opposing batting percentage of .216 on a 1.18 WHIP.
- Ashley Theisen has been the main relief pitcher for Winona State this season holding a 9-0 record in 52.0 innings pitched.
Minnesota State Moorhead Notes:
- The Dragons (9-40, 7-19 NSIC) are coming off a jam-packed week with three separate doubleheaders at home where they would go 2-and-4.
- Riley McKeever leads the MSUM batters with a .339 average with 42 hits, four doubles and 18 RBIs.
- As for the pitching staff, Bella Hess leads the crew with a 4.79 ERA and a 6-7 win-loss record.
- As a team, MSUM is batting .343 and has a .427 on-base percentage through 49 games.
Minnesota Crookston Notes:
- The Golden Eagles (14-37, 8-18 NSIC) are coming off a 1-and-5 week after losses to CSP, SCSU, and MSUM.
- Chayse Doering leads the UMC bats with a .340 batting average while collecting 49 hits, four home runs and 32 RBIs.
- Charlotte Dombrowski holds the most wins with a 7-11 record for the pitching staff with a WHIP of 1.79.
- As a team, Minnesota Crookston is batting .273 and has a .351 on-base percentage through 51 games.
