WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State softball team will travel to Minnesota State University, Mankato for road doubleheader.

The Warriors will start the week off against Minnesota State University, Mankato on Wednesday, April 8th starting at 2:00pm and the second game scheduled to begin at 4:00pm. The Mavericks are close behind the Warriors in conference standings with a 10-2 record in the NSIC.

#23 Winona State Notes:

• Winona State is ranked No. 23 in the nation in the most recent NFCA Coaches' Poll and are atop the NSIC with an outstanding 11-1 record.
• The Warriors (32-5, 11-1 NSIC) lead the conference in batting average with .343, 241 runs, 355 hits, 224 RBIs, and .416 on-base percentage.
• Alyssa Woelfel leads the NSIC in runs scored with 39 while also being top six in hits with 45.
• Bryn Elsenpeter is in the top five in the NSIC in slugging percentage (.717), on-base plug slugging percentage (1.202), RBIs (36), and doubles (12).
• Lila McNeill finds herself in the top 10 in the conference for batting average (.385), on-base percentage (.474), hits (45), and doubles (12).
• Jayda Berg has the second-best record in the league sitting at 13-2, with Izzy Howe following closely behind with a record of 12-1.

Minnesota State Notes:

• The Mavericks are 23-13 and 10-2 in the NSIC so far this season.
• MSU is riding a successful weekend against SMSU and USF where they went 3-1.
• Sophomore, Hannah Tong leads the bats for Minnesota State, with an average of .457 and seven home runs.
• Leading the pitching staff is freshman, Jorey Fry who holds a 3.46 ERA and season record of 11-6.
