MAYETTA, Kan. – The Winona State men's golf team took fourth place out of 17 teams in the Firekeeper Open.
Winona State was led by
Peyton Coahran and
Javier Ramos Casariego finishing the event with a three round team score of 881 (+17). Central Oklahoma would come in first place with a team score of 855 (-9) followed by Washburn and Central Missouri in second and third place with scores of 868 (+4) and 874 (+10), respectively.
Coahran shot rounds of 71 (-1), 73 (+1), and 73 (+1) to finish tied for sixth with Casariego who shot rounds of 74 (+2), 73 (E), and 72 (-1). Casariego was also top 10 in birdies at the event with 10 total.
Luke Maas and
Logan Chouinard were next up for the Warriors with Maas turning in a card of 222 (+6) and Chouinard turning in a card of 226 (+10). Maas was also tied for fourth at the event for number of pars with 39.
Diego Olano shot rounds of 78 (+6), 74 (+2), and 76 (+4) to finish the tournament with a total of 228.
Max Jericho rounded out the WSU lineup with cards of 79 (+7), 68 (-4), and 72 (E) to finish with a total of 219.
The Winona State Warrior will be in action next on April 17th and 18th at the NSIC Championships hosted in Smithville, Mo.
