ELSENPETER, WOELFEL, AND BERG SECURE D2CCA ALL-REGION HONORS

EDMOND, Okla. – Winona State softball student-athletes Bryn Elsenpeter and Alyssa Woelfel were selected to the D2CCA All-Central Region First Team, with Jayda Berg earning All-Central Region Second Team honors.

Elsenpeter, played second base for Winona State on the All-Region First Team. Elsenpeter finished the season with a .341 batting average with a .458 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .700. Elsenpeter led the team in home runs with 15 total and is third in the NSIC with 55 RBIs. Elsenpeter was also voted to the ALL-NSIC First Team to end the regular season.

Woelfel, who was voted the NSIC Player of the Year, led Winona State and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in almost every offensive statistic. Woelfel finished the season with a batting average of .406 and 78 hits with a slugging percentage of .651. Woelfel started in all 59 games for the Warriors which helped her earn First Team All-NSIC honors.

Berg, was the star left-handed pitcher for WSU and picked up First Team All-NSIC after submitting a 20-4 record with a 12-2 mark in league play. Berg pitched a team high 168.2 innings across 33 appearances and 24 starts for the Warriors. Berg held opponents to a batting average of .236 and recorded 126 strikeouts with only 13 walks.

Winona State ended the season with a 48-11 record which included the program's 16th trip to the NCAA Tournament and their sixth NSIC Regular Season Championship.
