WINONA, Minn. – Joey Mueller has been named the Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations at Winona State University.

Mueller, who has been with Warrior Athletics since 2021, steps into the role after serving the previous two years as the Director of Athletic Communications.
 
"I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Joey Mueller as our new Assistant AD for External Relations and to support his transition within our department," remarked Winona State Director of Athletics Jen Flowers. "The new role and opportunity for Joey will highlight his strengths in ways that will elevate Winona State Athletics. Joey is a natural leader and already has established positive relationships within our campus and community that will enhance his ability to be successful in this role. I look forward to seeing Joey achieve great things for Warrior Athletics"
 
Throughout his time at WSU, Mueller has been responsible for managing all athletic communication efforts for Winona State's 15 NCAA athletic programs through social media, press releases, statistics, video board production, and maintaining the Winona State Athletics website. Mueller has also served as the lead administrator for Warrior home events and handled season and single-game ticket sales, while assisting in corporate partnerships and serving on the Warrior Club Board.

In the role, Mueller will lead the athletic department's corporate partnerships, manage fundraising initiatives, serve as the athletic department's liaison to the Warrior Club, execute marketing initiatives, and coordinate internal and external athletic events.
