WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State soccer team is back at home with a pair of matches against Wayne State and Augustana.
The Warriors (0-6) will face the Wildcats (2-5) on Friday, Sept.25
th at 5:00 p.m., and the Vikings (4-1-2) on Sunday, Sept. 27
th at 1p.m.
Winona State Notes:
- WSU is on the hunt for its first win after a close battle against UMary last weekend that ended 1-0.
- Madison Barnick, McKayla Paukner, and Jacey Sturek are tied with one goal each for the Warriors this season.
- Barnick leads Winona State with eight shots on goal.
- Senior Annika Groendal leads all WSU field players in minutes played with 493 minutes.
- Kyleigh Jannisch, Adrianna Bixby, Groendal, Paukner, and are the WSU captains for the 2026 season.
Wayne State Notes:
- The Wildcats are 2-5 this season with three of their losses coming in at one goal or less.
- Wayne States Briella Thompsen leads the team in goals, shots, and shots on goal this season.
- Olivia Thompson has assisted four out of the nine goals the Wildcats have scored this season.
- Goalkeeper Alexa Hofstetter has had 41 saves this season while allowing nine goals.
Augustana Notes:
- Augustana has an impressive 4-1-2 record to start the season after recording its first loss of the season to Bemidji State last weekend, 2-0.
- The Vikings average 16.1 shots per game compared to their opponents 7.7.
- Goalkeeper Linnea Larson has notched 21 saves and has allowed five goals this season.
