BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Winona State freshman kicker Mathias Yaggie has been named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the Warriors' 42-41 overtime victory over No. 20 Augustana.
Yaggie went 2-for-2 on field goal attempts, connecting from 23 and 26 yards, while also converting both of his PAT attempts to finish with eight points. His biggest kick came with 47 seconds remaining in regulation, when he drilled the game-tying goal to send the game to overtime.
This victory marked Winona State's first win over a ranked opponent since 2022 and its first victory over Augustana since 2022.
