Joe Korneta is in his third season as a coach with the Winona State baseball team. Korneta, a former All-American player for the Warriors, will work with the WSU hitters and outfielders.

Korneta played the 2005 season for the Warriors and was named an All-American after hitting .395 with 20 home runs. His 20 homers during the season are the third most from a WSU player in a single season. Korneta was also an all-region and all-conference selection during the 2005 season.

Korneta began his collegiate career at Minnesota Duluth where he was a member of the Bulldog baseball and basketball teams. Korneta was named NSIC Newcomer of the Year in 2002 after leading the NSIC with a .526 batting average. He was a two-time all-region selection while playing for Minnesota Duluth.

A La Crosse, Wis. native, Korneta led La Crosse Logan High School to the 2001 Wisconsin State Baseball Championship. Korneta was a student assistant with Winona State during the 2006 season.

Korneta earned a degree in Sociology and Social Work from Winona State in 2005. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management from Winona State.
