Patrick Reilly is in his 11th season as a full-time assistant with the Winona State and 13th year overall with the Warrior baseball program heading into the 2022 season. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach prior to the 2020 campaign.
Reilly serves as the team’s recruiting coordinator and is the Warriors’ pitching coach.
Reilly has proved to have a positive impact on the team’s pitchers since joining the staff. He tutored Kodey Simon to All-Region honors in 2011 as the pitcher posted an 8-3 overall record and 2.04 ERA. Winona State had a 3.54 ERA in 2011 as the team advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship game and claimed the Central Region title. He also helped guide relief pitcher Mitch Voter to All-Region honors in 2015, posting a 0.39 ERA and tallied six saves in 16 relief appearances. He also had a pitcher named to the Northwoods League All-Star game during the summer of 2016.
Simon and Andrew DeSousa both tossed complete games in regional tournament while Tony Mueller threw a complete game five-hitter in the Warriors victory over No. 3 Central Missouri in the first round of the NCAA Division II Championship.
Reilly has also tutored Mueller in 2010 and Ross Hellenbrand to All-NSIC honors on the mound.
Prior to joining the Winona State staff Reilly spent two years as an assistant coach at Iowa City Regina High School (2008-09). He has served as an instructor at the University of Iowa baseball camp.
He received additional experience working in the front office of the Northwoods League during the summers of 2010 and 2011, handling the leagues’ public relations and marketing campaigns.
Reilly was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter in the infield at Loras College. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Sports Management from Loras in 2007 and completed his Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership at Winona State in 2011.
