Josh Colbert joined the Warrior football coaching staff in July, 2020, with a focus on coaching Winona State wide receivers.
Colbert brings with him an impressive resume with a diverse athletic and coaching background, as well as experience in earning NCAA championships.Â
Serving as a member of the Mount Union football coaching staff, he was a part of programs which won the 2017 NCAA Division III Football National Championship and earned NCAA Division III Runner-up status in 2018. Also coaching track and field at Mount Union, the Urbana, Ohio native was a part of two impressive seasons, as the Raiders won the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Team Championships after claiming 3rd place at the same competition in 2017. Overall at Mount Union, Colbert coached ten All-Conference selections and five All-America student-athletes, while also earning his Masters degree in Education. Additionally, Colbert has coaching experience in both sports at Cornell (Iowa) College.
As a student-athlete, Colbert competed in both football and track and field at Ohio Northern University. He served as a team captain for both programs at ONU and was the 2014 NCAA Division III National Champion in the Long Jump. At Ohio Northern, Colbert graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, while lining up at safety for Polar Bears. Colbert was a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion in the long jump and earned All-OAC honors on eight occasions.
