Austin Hawkins

Austin Hawkins joins the Winona State staff as a graduate assistant for the 2017-18 season. He will pursue his Master’s in Educational Leadership.
 
A 2017 graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Hawkins was a forward for the Cobbers before injuries forced him to retire during his sophomore season.
 
Hawkins remained active on the Grassroots Circuit with the Minnesota Comets AAU Program, where he served as an assistant for the top outstate program in Minnesota on teams ranging from age groups 13U-17U over the past four years. He also worked extensively with youth basketball players in the Fargo-Moorhead area with basketball skill development from the moment he stepped on Concordia’s campus.
 
The Auburndale, Wis. native was heavily involved with the Sports Information Department while at Concordia and completed internships with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and the Rochester Red Wings baseball clubs during his collegiate years.
 
As a senior, Hawkins returned to the Concordia Men’s Basketball program as a student-assistant for head coach Rich Glas’ final season. He was involved in all aspects of the program, including serving as Head Junior Varsity Coach.
 
Hawkins graduated with a Communications Studies degree with an emphasis in Public Relations and a coaching minor.
