Delaney Marier was named the Winona State head women's soccer coach in May 2024.
AT WINONA STATE
Delaney Marier enters her third season leading the Winona State Warriors in 2026, having entered the program in 2024 bringing new life to the Warriors. In her first two seasons at the helm, Marier has guided the Warriors through steady growth — from a 6-8-2 (5-8-1 NSIC) debut campaign in 2024 to an improved 7-6-4 (6-6-3 NSIC) season in 2025. Under her leadership, the Warriors have developed a reputation for resilience and year-over-year improvement, with All-Conference talent emerging in each of her first two seasons at the helm.

PRIOR TO WINONA STATE
Before taking the reins in Winona, Marier spent years building a reputation as one of the region's most respected club, youth, and collegiate soccer minds. She's held senior leadership roles within premier Minnesota club programs, including stints as a technical director and girls academy director, where she helped shape player development pathways for boys and girls across the club — highlighted by a standout squad she coached to four consecutive playoff appearances at the national level. She also represented the Midwest Conference on the Girls Academy League Board of Directors, and served as head coach, tournament director, and referee improvement coordinator for Woodbury Soccer Club (2014-2018). On the collegiate sideline, she has served as an assistant coach at Carleton College (2016-2018), the University of St. Thomas (DI), and her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin–River Falls (DIII) — rounding out a coaching résumé that spans every level of the game.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE
Marier brings a playing career that spans NCAA divisions directly into her coaching philosophy. She competed at South Carolina State University (DI) before continuing her career at Hanover College (DIII) and closing out her collegiate playing days at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls (DIII) from — a path that gives her firsthand insight into the demands players face at every level of the college game.
PERSONAL
A native of Hastings, Minnesota, Marier now calls Winona home, fully immersed in the community she coaches for. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), bringing added strategic and organizational insight to her leadership of the program. Her biggest fans travel distances to cheer her on: niece and nephew Nellie and Henry are Warrior soccer's super fans, making every opportunity to root on their aunt and the team from the sideline. You will also find her friends and family frequenting the stands supporting Warrior Soccer every chance they get!
