Val Kellogg

Val Kellogg was hired as the Warriors’ assistant coach prior to the 2018 season.

Kellogg, a former NCAA Division I All-Conference player, brings nearly a decade of coaching experience to the Winona State sideline.

A three-time MAC All-Academic Team recipient, Kellogg excelled on and off the field at Central Michigan University. She was a team captain for the Chippewas as a junior and senior and earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2009 and 2010. Additionally, Kellogg was named a Strength and Conditioning All-American in 2010.

Following her playing career, which included two conference regular season and postseason championships, along with NCAA Playoff appearances in 2009 and 2010, Kellogg served as a student assistant coach at Central Michigan for one season.  

Kellogg then served as an assistant coach at Lake Erie College from 2012-14 before taking over as the head coach for the Division II program from 2014-16. Kellogg returned to the Division I ranks for one season as the assistant at the University of North Dakota in 2016.

Prior to joining Winona State, Kellogg spent one year as a staff coach for Nationals Soccer Club in Pontiac, Michigan before joining the University of Detroit-Mercy for the 2017 season as an assistant.

Kellogg earned her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and has an M.B.A. from Lake Erie College. She has a U.S.S.F. – E license, a national diploma and a level one goalkeeper diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Val is married to Winona State's head women's soccer coach, Matt Kellogg and the couple are proud parents to Gretchen and Wyatt.Â
