CROOKSTON, Minn. – The No. 18 Winona State soccer team struggled to find the back of the net Sunday afternoon, and the result was a scoreless tie with Minnesota Crookston.
The tie marks the first time in series history that the Warriors have not beaten the Golden Eagles (21-0-1).
Despite an advantage throughout the stat sheet, the Warriors were unable to make it count. WSU outshot Minnesota Crookston 17-7 while putting 10 shots on goal compared to just four for UMC.
Nicole Sames led the Warriors with a strong effort off the bench, posting five shots with four of those shots on goal. Darian Molter added four shots, while Kenzie Rose had three and Kati Baker finished with two.
Winona State (13-2-1, 10-2-1) returns to Winona for its final regular season home game on Friday night with a 7 p.m. matchup against with Concordia-St. Paul at Warrior Stadium.Â
