WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State volleyball team continued its winning ways, completing the weekend sweep with a 3-0 victory over MSU Moorhead on Senior Day in McCown Gym.

The Warriors had to overcome a bit of a sluggish start in set one, falling behind 4-1 but quickly coming back to tie it at 7-7. From that point, WSU never trailed and cruised to a 25-21 win. Kudronowicz had five kills in the opening set while the Warriors hit .289.

Winona State (18-6, 13-5 NSIC) put together a dominating performance in the second set. WSU pulled out to an early 8-2 lead with seven of their eight points coming off of kills in the set and never looked back. The Warriors would go on to win the set 25-14.Â
The Warriors recorded 17 kills off of 34 attacks with only two attack errors to hit for a blistering .441 attack percentage for the set. Rampart led the Warriors with five kills in the set. The defense held the Dragons in check as the MSU Moorhead was only able to muster a .114 hitting percentage for the set.Â
The Dragons would challenge the Warriors in the first set. Through the first half of the set, MSU Moorhead held a 13-12 lead over Winona State. However, the Warriors would go on a 9-2 run to pull ahead 21-15 late in the set, with six of the Warrior points coming off three kills a piece for Rampart and
Kylea Roeglin. WSU would put the Dragons away with a Kudronowicz kill to come away with a 25-18 win in the third set.
The WSU offense was efficient again in the third set by hitting 19 kills for a .304 hitting percentage while holding MSU Moorhead to 11 kills on a .222 hitting percentage.
Rampart led the Warrior attack with 14 kills and recording 16 digs for her 16th double-double.
Taylor Goar recorded 11 kills and Kudronowicz had another stellar outing by recording 10 kills on a .529 hitting percentage.
Jamie Cairncross led the Warrior defense with 18 digs, while
McKenna Larsen recorded a double-double with 39 assists to go with her 11 digs.
Winona State will close out its regular season on the road, as the Warriors next match will take them to Bismarck, N.D. to take on the University of Mary on Friday, Nov. 7.
