Warriors and SMSU Play To Scoreless Tie Sunday

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Winona State soccer team closed out the weekend with a scoreless double over time tie with Southwest Minnesota State Sunday afternoon in Marshall.

The Warriors held a 13-6 advantage in shots, but each team made five saves in the match.

Both teams' defenses were stout in the match, not allowing their opponent to find the back of the net. Mehan Bolton led the Warriors with four shots and put three of those on goal. Chase Rehm added three shots, while Abby Bohanski put one of her two shots on goal. Kirsten Windbiel also had one shot on goal.

The Warriors had opportunities to score with five corner kicks in the second half and seven in the match compared to three from the Mustangs.
