Warriors Play To Second Straight Scoreless Tie Saturday vs BSU

WINONA, Minn. – For the second straight game, the Winona State soccer team ended in a scoreless double overtime tie with Bemidji State on a cool, cloudy and breezy Saturday at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.

In a matchup of regionally-ranked teams – WSU at No. 5 and BSU at No. 10 – neither team was able to find the back of the net. The Warriors held a 14-7 advantage in shots, while Bemidji State had eight saves to WSU's two.

Mehan Bolton led the Warriors with four shots, with two of those on goal. Meg Riebau added three shots also with two on goal and Nicole Sames added three shots as well with one on goal.  Abby Bohanski, Chase Rehm and Kelsey Foss each added a shot on goal to the stat sheet.

The Warriors had opportunities to score with five corner kicks on the day compared to the Beavers' three.

WSU was on the offensive throughout the final 10 minutes in the second overtime, posting four shots, but were unable to score.

Winona State (10-3-2, 7-3-2 NSIC) will take on Minnesota Crookston Sunday at 1 p.m. at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.
